Discover The Point, a Special Area of Conversation (SAC). During the stunning walk from Tra Ban to The Point Michael will take you on a journey from the geology of the ‘coral’ beach to ‘the Donegal corridor’. Nature and heritage lovers and World War 2 enthusiasts alike will love this walk.

Mystery Bus Tour
Join the Mystery Bus Tour — rolling along the roads it chose. Where will it take us, where will it go… nobody knows – except Mark Nesbitt and the bus driver, of course.
The bus will leave from and return to Castle Murray Car Park at Rahan (McSwyne’s) Castle. Refreshments will be served at the castle on return. Let us know if you need pick up in the town.

Auriel Robinson, archaeologist, asks: Did the MacSuibhne clan shelter the Spanish Armada at Rahan (MacSuibhne, McSwynes’s) Castle?
Dr Edward Pollard shares the castle’s history and discoveries from his research on climate change on the castle and St John’s Point coast. We will be graced with traditional music from the students of O’Donnell School of Music. Refreshments served.

MWI Meet & Mingle
MWI gathering MWI welcome you to a friendly Meet and Mingle in the Dunkineely Methodist church — enjoy refreshments and a chance to connect with others. Meet our honoured guest, Hazel Wray (Coulter) — a lovely chance to say hello and catch up and share memories during the festival.
Free, donations welcome.
Heritage Walk & Talk to the Wedge Tombs
Walk with archaeologist Kate Robb to discover the ancient megalithic tombs of the area — a peaceful, mysterious landscape rich in ancestral history. Ines Eggers will speak about traditional herbs and old medicinal practices. The enchanting voice of Laura McGurk will drift through the air, deepening the mystery and atmosphere.

Enjoy our annual Children’s Sports Day organised by Dunkineely Celtic FC, explore the wonders of the Discovery Dome Planetarium (see separate listing for details), and soak up the atmosphere with music on stage — open mic for local talent from 1–2pm, followed by None the Wiser from 2–4pm. And don’t miss our ever‑popular, now famous, Mark and Alan’s BBQ.

Once again we are offering a boat trip for just €20 (plus online booking fee). Departing Killybegs at 6pm on Sunday 24th August, the tour heads out to St John’s Point for
fantastic views of St John’s Point and the surrounding coastline. We can’t make promises — but last year we saw salmon, dolphins, and even a whale. We’ll be travelling on the larger vessel from Atlantic Coastal Cruises, The Harbour, Killybegs, F94 HE9R, with good parking available. A 2‑hour trip with entertainment. Refreshments and bar available on board.
